This is basically my dream comment (disturbing that I dream about comments, but. well.) Care vs. harm is exactly what I was trying to pick apart so I’m really glad it came across! Thank you for commenting, Z, hope the story treats you well if you take it for another spin(:
The carpet and the under-sofa got to me. Who hasn't, at some point, had some kind of moment like that one? When you feel abjection and you have to get literal with it, right there on the floor?
I, for one, am frequently communing with the floor, it is a sacred act of literalism, getting as low as you feel. There’s comfort in it, once you accept the devastation
I haven’t read as much of you as I’d like but I know comments like that can hurt so something compelled me to look at it. Having read his work I wouldn’t worry about his opinion. It’s rare that someone with anything to say writes something that trenchant.
Thanks for saying this Helen, I really appreciate it. Honestly, the comment is so boring and Up-On-My-High-Horse I could only roll my eyes at it. I'm not taking it to heart. Your comment means way more to me than that guy's--I've already forgotten his name
This is fucking incredible.
The way you write about hurting people you love, the recurring motifs and phrases (“fair but annoying”), the way the story conflates harm and comfort.
I think I need to read this agin.

I don’t find it disturbing, but then I am a slut for creative validation

Not my cup of tea but it was still well put together. You had an intention and it shows. Good job homie!
I appreciate you reading and commenting even though it’s not quite your taste! Thank you, kindly(:
this is powerful, very good work
Please go back to the drawing board, erase it, burn it, then piss on the ashes, dry them out, cut them into lines, and sniff.
Please.
I think you’ll feel better.
i love this
