if this were an mfa level course I would say the dog is the physical manifestation of the characters’ most childlike feelings of anxiety and confusion. all innocence and no comprehension. but it’s not an mfa course so idk really
Match of prose style, here quite stark and simple, there quite rhapsodic and lyrical, with the ebbing and flowing of the intimate and personal to the more, er, transcendental, is masterfully done.
